Chase is the U.S. consumer and commercial banking business of JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE: JPM), a leading global financial services firm with $2.6 trillion in assets and operations worldwide. Chase serves nearly half of America’s households with a broad range of financial services, including personal banking, credit cards, mortgages, auto financing, investment advice, small business loans and payment processing.
OBJECTIVE
One of Dochter & Alexander’s first clients was Chase Bank, who selected us to spearhead their launch in the DC metro area. Chase was new to the market and had no local brand presence but wanted to pursue a very aggressive strategy and open several branches at once. Chase was very focused on the District itself and valued Dochter & Alexander’s street-level expertise.
STRATEGY
Dochter & Alexander quickly developed a strategy for both downtown and neighborhood locations based on the different needs of different parts of the city, examining metrics like daytime population, foot traffic, public transportation, and local retail anchors. When outside events forced the project to pause, Dochter & Alexander was able to advise Chase on the changing state of the market, maintain important relationships, and remain poised to execute.
RESULTS
Once we had the go-ahead, Dochter & Alexander immediately executed an updated plan with new deals to help Chase acquire the critical mass it needed. Chase opened two initial locations and continues to expand in the DC market, with over 20 branches now open. Dochter & Alexander continues to manage the account, maintaining a valuable, long-term partnership with Chase.
