Jason Kastner is the Managing Director of the National Advisory Group at Dochter & Alexander Retail Advisors, where he advises high-growth brands on market strategy, site selection, lease negotiations, and long-term real estate planning.

With 20 years of experience across the retail, restaurant, fitness, and consumer sectors, Jason serves as an extension of his clients' executive teams, often functioning as an outsourced real estate department. He helps brands identify the right markets, develop scalable growth strategies, negotiate favorable economics, and execute profitable expansion plans across the United States.

Jason launched the National Advisory Group to provide entrepreneurial brands with institutional-quality real estate expertise typically reserved for much larger organizations. His clients range from venture-backed startups and international entrants to established national operators seeking strategic growth, portfolio optimization, and market expansion.

Prior to joining Dochter & Alexander, Jason served as Head of Real Estate for sweetgreen. As the company's first real estate hire, he helped transform sweetgreen from a regional concept with 25 locations in four markets into a nationally recognized brand with more than 100 restaurants across 12 markets. During his tenure, he led market planning, site selection, deal negotiations, and portfolio strategy while supporting the company's rapid growth and evolution into one of the country's leading fast-casual brands.

Prior to sweetgreen, Jason worked for Equinox, helping develop growth strategies, prototype models, and expansion plans for one of the industry's most successful fitness platforms.

Throughout his career, Jason has completed transactions across a wide range of asset types and markets. His approach combines market intelligence, financial discipline, and deep industry relationships to help clients grow efficiently and profitably.

Outside of work, Jason enjoys spending time with his wife, Simone, their children, Lior and Nathan, and their yellow lab, Tex. When he can find a free afternoon, you will likely find him on a golf course, exploring great retail projects while traveling, or cheering on Tottenham Hotspur.
