Chris Record
Marketing & Creative Director
Chris Record is a creative director and designer whose practice spans graphic design, cartography, photography, 3D visualization, and animation. He joined Dochter & Alexander Retail Advisors in 2015 as a starting member and has spent the decade since building its brand identity and creative operation from the ground up, authoring the firm's visual language, its website, and the repeatable design systems that let a lean team deliver at the caliber of a shop several times its size.
Much of his work lives at the intersection of design and market intelligence. His custom strategy maps translate retail real estate data into clear visual arguments, drawing on a deep familiarity with every major retail corridor in the DMV. He has built strategies spanning New York, Los Angeles, Hawaii, Boston, and many other U.S. markets, a discipline that treats cartography not as decoration but as analysis.
Before Dochter & Alexander, Chris was a graphic designer at AOL, where his work spanned Engadget, TechCrunch, and The Huffington Post. He completed a year of coursework at Oxford University concentrating in marketing and consumer psychology, and graduated magna cum laude from George Mason University.
