Dochter & Alexander was selected by REI in 2007 to assist with site selection in the DC Metro region. Knowing they needed a true understanding of what made REI’s business successful, the team immediately began studying REI’s customer, culture, and real estate goals. The team then developed a market strategy for the region based on market and growth trends including repositioning existing stores to maximize market penetration. Three years later, Dochter & Alexander secured a new store for REI in Columbia, Maryland. Since then the team has completed 5 additional site acquisitions including large format stores in Tysons Corner, VA and Rockville, MD, and the new 50,000 square foot flagship location at Uline Arena in Washington DC.
