IN-HOUSE EXPERIENCE
Prior to launching the National Advisory Group at Dochter & Alexander Retail Advisors, Jason was hired in 2014 as the head of real estate for sweetgreen, the unicorn fast casual restaurant chain. As their first ever real estate hire, Jason spearheaded the company development from a regional chain of 25 restaurants in 4 markets to a national chain of 100+ restaurants in 12 markets, focusing on building same store sales, developing new markets, creating multi-channel growth platforms and leveraging technology. With the proper sequence and based on proven success factors, Jason drove profitable growth by delivering a balanced national portfolio in priority markets. By the numbers with strict financial return thresholds: 5 years, 85 transactions, 12 markets, approximately 200k square feet, 340% increase in size, 430% increase in sales.Preceding sweetgreen, Jason was engaged in 2013 by Equinox to develop rigorous location specific prototype models, oversee all site selection and acquisition of new locations, and build a franchise support team to launch a national franchise system for Blink Fitness, Equinox’s value driven fitness experience based on a low-cost development and operating strategy. By the numbers with strict financial return thresholds: 1.5 years, 20 transactions, 6 markets, approximately 320k square feet, 67% increase in size, 108% increase in sales.
